CHAPTER OFFICERS FOR 2011-2012

Eastern Star is a social order comprised of both men and women with spiritual values, promoting charity, education, science and fraternal ties. Ii is not a religion nor a secret society. Its appeal rests in the true beauty of the refreshing and character building lessons that are so sincerely portrayed in its ritualistic work. Concrete evidence of the charitable nature of this Order as it affects others is the millions of dollars which have been raised within the membership to support charities.  It is open to all faiths and you must believe in a supreme being. Our Ellettsville Chapter # 454 contributes to the Grand Chapter projects such as the Cancer Fund, Indiana Masonic Home, Educational and Ministerial Scholarships, Masonic charities including the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.  Also, within our ability, we provide for families and individuals in need, promote environmental conservation, contribute to food pantries and entertain at some of the skill care facilities. Some of our members enjoy visiting other chapters in Indiana and taking bus trips to areas such as Branson, Missouri and attending other out-of-town events. We have parties appropriate to the season and some formal events and host Masonic dinners. This year, along with the Ellettsville Masons, we entered a float in the Monroe County Fall Festival Parade.  One of our greatest pleasures is just enjoying each others’ company along with a tasty, homemade snack in the lodge dining room after a meeting.  We are of different faiths and different backgrounds, coming together in the cause of service to each other and our community.  If you have an affiliation with a Master Mason in good standing, even perhaps in your distant family tree, then you may be eligible for membership in the Ellettsville Order of the Eastern Star.  For membership information, e-mail any officer listed below with “OES Membership” as the subject line.
